I have always heard people saying that they had been
meritorious students in their schools/colleges. Tales of how they have toiled hard
and excelled in academics are worth hearing (sometimes). But their fairy tales go
poof when while at job, either the much deserved remuneration does not come
their way or there is lack of requisite recognition and appreciation. Their
world goes upside down when they see others, i.e., their counterparts excelling
either by hook or by crook. The most hurtful thing turns out to be the fact
that these colleagues were not too serious or I must say not bookworms in their
academic life cycle.
An all rounder with knowledge in multitudinous fields leap
ahead in all aspects – this could have been the advice of our respected and experienced
septa-octogenarian to all our brooding friends. But had I been in the age
bracket of 40s-50s, along with the above advice, I would have advised one more
thing. Be a school/college dropout, engage in some mindful business and voila!
Here you are on the pathway leading to becoming a billionaire. To support my
piece of advice, I have strong examples of college dropouts like Bill Gates
(investor, programmer, co-founder Microsoft), Mark Zuckerbug (computer
programmer, interent entrepreneur, co-founder Facebook), Shahid Usman Balwa (entrepreneur
based in Mumbai, one of the promoters of Mumbai-based DB Group) and a school
dropout too - Subhash Chandra : an Indian media mogul.

No wonder education and knowledge comes at rescue even if
you leave the centre of learning midway.
But then, I am a youngster and I acknowledge another genre apart
from college dropouts that is gaining momentum and open acceptance. Before I
reveal it, let me share some names - Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci (Italian
Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician,
engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer), Michelangelo
di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni (Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and
engineer of the High Renaissance who exerted an unparalleled influence on the
development of Western art), Vikram Seth (Indian novelist and poet) and Lady
Gaga(American pop-singer), James Joseph, "Jim" Parsons (American actor,
best known for playing Sheldon Cooper on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory).
Did you get the spot?? Oops! I mean the point!!
Are you still
pondering over these bigwigs?? I don’t think so. Must have got it by now – famous
and successful personalities from the LGBT community. Well, these people are acclaimed
for considerable success in their field of knowledge.
Rightly said : “Knowledge is power”, but then one has to
consciously attain it, decipher it, apply it instead of contemplating why grass
is greener on the other side.
It’s not just all about be ‘A Gay’ or ‘be gay’ to reach the
zenith of your realm, the world’s gonna bow down to your power of knowledge and
actions when you are cent per cent engrossed in the sphere of your interest
and intellect to the fullest of your
potential. This necessarily implies that there should be nothing to hide about
your identity, your feelings and conviction for an innovative idea, however
petty it may seem at its inception. And lo! The ever skeptic world would
embrace you with open arms and reverential hearts.
I guess my itchy
fingers should write more often and practise signing autographs. Isn’t it what
they do the best..Eh??
